The Leader of the House is a Member of the Executive Council (MEC) appointed by fellow MECs to represent the Executive Council in the Legislature.
The Leader of the House is thus empowered to speak on behalf of MECs who are unable to participate in legislative activities. He/she also assist in coordinating in the business of the House.
